Many small business owners do not realize that there is money available to them through the Economic Stimulus Act. While some may not want to take advantage of this money because they view it as a “hand out,” you need to realize that your competition may be getting this money and thus, putting you at a competitive disadvantage. The United States Small Business Administration-backed loans have recently been expanded to make more small businesses eligible, giving greater access to capital to more than 70,000 additional small businesses. The SBA has also implemented two key provisions of the Recovery Act which raised loan guarantees and reduced fees. Additional capital has been approved for veteran-owned small businesses. The program Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative provides more than $25 million in loan guarantees to veterans and their spouses to establish and expand their small businesses. For more information, contact us.
